Join NPCs and dynamic raid signs#

UltimateRaids can expose raids through interactive signs and EntityWizard-backed NPCs.

Join NPCs#

EntityWizard is required for persistent raid NPCs.

Create one at your current location:

/uraid npc create <raid>

List/remove/refresh:

/uraid npc list
/uraid npc remove <npc-uuid>
/uraid npc refresh

The current command only allows creation for raids whose mode is appropriate for MINIGAME or DISCOVERY entry behavior. The NPC manager persists the NPC and respawns/synchronizes viewers when players join or change world.

NPC appearance#

The raid entry.npc section controls:

  • entity type (PLAYER or mob);
  • glowing/baby/no-gravity;
  • look-at-player and distances;
  • click animation/sound/particle;
  • PLAYER skin data;
  • equipment;
  • hologram/display lines;
  • profile-name hiding.

entry.lobby-npc can create a second lobby interaction NPC, with its own appearance and positional offset. Its display can show players, Ready count and vote/leave instructions.

Dynamic signs#

A sign becomes a raid sign through the RaidSignListener's expected marker/raid ID format. Registered signs are persisted and updated with runtime state.

The rendered sign can show:

  • raid display name / ID;
  • lifecycle state;
  • player count;
  • Ready count;
  • min/max players;
  • countdown;
  • running instance count;
  • contextual action (join, queue/running/wait).

The sign manager intentionally does not delete persisted registrations merely because a raid definition is temporarily unavailable during reload. Explicit sign break/unregister remains authoritative.

Troubleshooting sign/NPC entry#

If clicking a sign/NPC does nothing, verify the raid is enabled, its entry mode is compatible, admission requirements/cooldowns pass, and the NPC/sign registration still points to the correct raid ID. For NPCs, also verify EntityWizard initialized correctly.
