Bosses, phases, minions and enrage#

A spawn group can become a raid boss by attaching a boss definition. Boss behavior is provider-independent: the entity may be vanilla or supplied by an external entity provider, while UltimateRaids tracks health/damage, phases, enrage, targeting, bossbar and minions.

Basic boss#

groups:
  guardian:
    provider: DEFAULT
    type: IRON_GOLEM
    amount: 1
    name: '<error>Crypt Guardian</error>'
    health: 120
    boss:
      id: crypt_guardian

The boss.id is what KILL_BOSS objectives reference.

Targeting modes#

The core supports:

  • NEAREST
  • RANDOM
  • LOWEST_HEALTH
  • HIGHEST_DAMAGE
  • LAST_ATTACKER

Configure targeting radius and retarget interval.

Damage controls#

Boss damage configuration supports incoming/outgoing multipliers and a maximum incoming hit. This is useful when custom weapons can otherwise delete a boss in one hit.

Immunities#

Damage causes can be excluded, for example FALL or DROWNING.

Equipment#

Boss equipment may use item providers, allowing vanilla/custom item ecosystems depending on installed extensions.

Phases#

phases:
  '1':
    health-percent: 70
    skills: [example]
    minions: [guards]
  '2':
    health-percent: 30
    minions: [phase_guard]

Thresholds should normally descend as health decreases. Validation warns about suspicious order/ranges and rejects references to missing minion definitions.

Enrage#

Enrage can trigger by health percentage and/or elapsed seconds, then change outgoing damage/movement and execute skills, actions or minion spawns.

Minion triggers#

Boss minions support:

  • INTERVAL
  • PHASE
  • ENRAGE

They can define amount, health, radius, max-alive and whether they count toward the stage objective.

Skills#

Boss phases/enrage can call reusable native skills from skills/*.yml or entity-provider skills through the ENTITY_SKILL action/provider capability.
